This vision of Napoleon is seen here as Kneepoleon, a character located from the knee down. The film gives a skewed rendition of Bone-a-parts life that takes place mostly in flashback. Alone, in his final exile, are the disparate musings of the mind hopelessly astray. The fire brings to light moments of former glory—the coronation, the many battles and marches, moments at sea, the snowy battles in Russia, Waterloo, and final exile in St Helena. He has, for all his glory, become downsized.
All this is accomplished with severely diminished props and costumes, a healthy disregard of the facts and a hero’s nose for good lighting. Presented as a silent movie in glorious black and white bookended by color scenes of the cast entering an inflated movie house for the film opening in Knee-Hi Max, An Able Glance Production.
This was an interstellar pageant of planetary peregrinations based on the absurdism of Swift scene-d thru the eyes of crass consciousness, social mores and the need to sail forth in an obtuse fashion to places untoward and usually humiliating. Working hand-in-glove, tongue-in-cheek and foot-in-mouth with students at the University of Michigan, Gulliblurr took to the sky as he sieze art in all the wrong places, ending his flights of fancy and ms-anthropy by falling for a horse of a different collar.
